Hello blogosphere

After many years of consideration I have decided to start a blog. Obvious, I know.

Ok, so we're past that now, phew!

I should probably start with a little background about me to give you some perspective. I grew up in the self-proclaimed "heart of it all." Can I get an O-hi-O. Known as the land of the flat and the home of the buckeyes. Green as far as the eye can see, and a place to build a fire and camp out right down the street. Not a bad place to grow-up at all save one thing; winter.

Imagine opening your front door to a blast of frost. It's 6:00 a.m. and you have to go to work. Magically a foot of snow fell while you slept. You slowly creep onto the front stoop only to find that below this harmless looking powder is an ever so slim layer of ice, a remnant of the rain precluding the temperature drop. Catching your balance on the ice cold metal railing prevents the fall, but reminds you to get your gloves. You go back inside. Your snot begins to thaw.

Gathering your courage you take the next blast of cold with determination and begin "the trudge" to the car. The bottom 3 inches of your jeans are soaked through at the halfway point, with your socks coming in a close second. Success! You make it to the car and slam the door on the onslaught. It's still very cold, so you start the car quickly and turn the heater on low. High is no good, you'll only get a surprising burst of the elements you meant to leave outside. Now you sit and try not to think about it for the next 5-10 minutes it takes the window to thaw while searching for your ice scraper. It's all in the elbow.

Enough for now, I have strayed from the point. Needless to say I have been in San Francisco for nearly 7 years now and the weather is amazing. As may be apparent I named this blog digital exhaust because sometimes there are stories that you like to tell, images you like to share (did I mention I'm an art guy?). Who knows what the next post will be on, or for that matter when. After all, I'm an art guy.

create.

p.s. Oh and to kick things off here's a desktop I was inspired on the other day. May work on it some more...
